Finding Balance: 4 Pillars of Wellness
Wellness is a journey, not a race. It’s a continuous flow of exploration and awareness. My job as your Holistic Life Coach is to guide you along your journey, diving into the four body systems or pillars of wellness — mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Oftentimes, people get stuck focusing on “fixing” just one part of their lives.
Ever catch yourself thinking, “Life would be better if I fixed my finances,” or “I’d be happier if I lost ten extra pounds,” only to achieve those goals and still feel something’s lacking? We often hyper-focus on fixing one issue and hope it is what has been holding us back all along.
Holistic life coaching is different. We look at the whole person, which is comprised of four pillars of wellness: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
The Four Pillars Of Wellness

Mental
Focuses on your thoughts, attitudes, perceptions, and beliefs while bringing awareness to any harmful patterns.
Emotional
Deals with understanding, managing, and expressing emotions and your relationship with yourself and others.
Physical
Concerns the body’s health, fitness, nutrition, overall well-being, and all material things, including finances and job.
Spiritual
Involves exploring beliefs, values, purpose, and connection to something greater than oneself.
Imagine a chair with four legs.
If one leg is shorter, the whole chair wobbles, becoming wobbly and unbalanced. The same happens in our lives when one or more of the four pillars is unbalanced.
This imbalance can show up as mental and emotional distress, such as hopelessness, physical illness, weight gain, and much more!
